Privacy policy
Last updated: 17 October 2026
This privacy policy tells you which personal data we process, for what purpose and what rights you have.
1. Data coaches record about third parties
When a coach sets up a squad or records match data, they are processing personal data about their players. Playwise only provides the tool.
The coach is responsible for informing their players that their details are recorded in Playwise and for obtaining the necessary consent — for minors, from their parents or legal guardians.
This data is visible only to the coach concerned — and to the assistant coaches the coach invites into the team (two at most). It is not published, not shared with other clubs and not used for advertising. If the coach shares a match plan or a session with the team via a link, the page contains no player names and no notes; it can only be reached with the link, does not appear in search engines and can be deactivated at any time. The Playwise Player account is separate: it belongs to the player, and the coach does not see its content.
2. What data we process
Account data: first name, last name, email address, password (stored exclusively as an encrypted hash), chosen language and role (coach or player).
Club and team data (Playwise Coach): the chosen team, training days, year of foundation as well as the dates, training plans, own drills and tactical moves you record.
Player data (Playwise Player): position, year of birth, club, shirt number, strong foot, an optional profile picture as well as your results from quizzes, the lab, tests, the training plan, matchday and daily readiness.
Public profile (optional): only if you switch it on explicitly in your profile are your first name, the first letter of your last name, position, club and card values visible to other Playwise users. You can switch it off again at any time.
Subscription and payment status: the chosen plan, price, trial, term and payment status. Credit card or TWINT data is never stored by us (see section 4).
Chat input: questions to the «Ask Playwise» feature are processed to answer them (see section 6).
Squad data: when a coach sets up their squad, we store each player's first and last name as well as, optionally, shirt number, position, year of birth and a note.
Match and performance data: if a coach records matches, we store the date, opponent, result, goals with the minute, scorer and assist, as well as minutes played and a rating per player.
Opponent knowledge and opponent memory: what you enter as a coach about an opponent (system, which side and shirt number their most dangerous player comes from, tapped keywords and your own notes) is stored for your analysis and match plan. Notes, shirt numbers and remarks about individual people (e.g. “Shaky goalkeeper”) stay private. Only the system and the tapped keywords about the team as a whole (e.g. “High press”) feed anonymously into the opponent memory — and only while sharing is switched on. The same applies to keywords that players tap in “My opponent”. Other users only see a keyword once at least two independent sources have named it, and never who entered it.
Technical data: when you visit the website, server log data is generated automatically (IP address, date and time, page requested, browser type). It serves security and stable operation.
Waitlist: if you join the waitlist for Germany and Austria, we store your email address, your country, whether you are a player or a coach, and your language — only to tell you once about the launch in your country. The sign-up only counts once you confirm it via the link in our email. We delete it at any time on request.
3. Purposes of processing
We process your data to provide the Playwise services (account, analyses, training and development planning, player card), to handle the trial, payments and renewals, to communicate with you, for security and abuse prevention and to improve our offering.
We do not sell personal data and do no profiling for advertising purposes.
4. Payment processing (Stripe)
Payments are processed through the payment platform Stripe (Stripe Payments Europe, Ltd., Ireland, or Stripe, Inc., USA). You enter your payment details (card number, TWINT details) directly with Stripe; we neither receive nor store them. From Stripe we only receive confirmation of the payment and a reference number.
Stripe's privacy policy applies in addition (stripe.com/privacy).
5. Hosting and storage
The website is operated at Vercel Inc. (USA). The database with your account and club data is held at Supabase on servers in Zurich, Switzerland.
For sending emails (e.g. to reset your password) we use Resend (Plus Five Five, Inc., USA). The recipient address and the content of the message are transmitted.
Where data is transferred to the USA (e.g. by Vercel or Stripe), we ensure protection through appropriate safeguards, in particular recognised data protection frameworks (Swiss–U.S. Data Privacy Framework) or standard contractual clauses.
6. The AI feature «Ask Playwise»
To answer football questions we use the AI services of Anthropic (USA). The text of your question is transmitted to Anthropic and processed there. Please do not enter particularly sensitive personal data in the chat (e.g. health data about players).
Only the text you type into the chat yourself is transmitted to Anthropic. Playwise does not add any squad, player or club data of its own accord. Please don't enter player names in the chat — they aren't needed for the answer.
Playwise does not store what you ask. On our servers we only record when you asked a question, so the monthly question limit can be applied; this data is deleted together with your account. So that you can continue a conversation, your browser keeps the latest messages on your device. If you ask a follow-up question, the latest messages are sent to Anthropic as context. “New conversation” deletes the history.
7. Controller
Responsible for processing data within the meaning of the Swiss Data Protection Act (DPA) is Playwise (owner: Kevin Stojanov Playwise), email: info@playwise.ch. The postal address is given in the imprint.
8. Minors
Only an adult may open a coach account (Playwise Coach).
A player account (Playwise Player) can also be used by young people. Anyone under 16 needs the consent of their parents or legal guardians. Profiles of minors never appear on our public home page.
In junior teams, squad data about minors may also be recorded by the coach. If a player is under 16, the coach must obtain the consent of their parents or legal guardians beforehand.
Parents and legal guardians can request the deletion of their child's data at any time. A short message to info@playwise.ch is enough.
9. Cookies and local storage
Playwise uses only a technically necessary session cookie that keeps you signed in after logging in. No advertising or tracking cookies are set.
In addition, your browser remembers a few conveniences locally (e.g. which trophy you've already seen or when you last refreshed an analysis). This information stays on your device and is not transmitted to us. Details are in our cookie policy. The exception is the conversation history of “Ask Playwise” (see section 6).
10. Retention
We keep your data as long as your account exists or it is necessary for the purposes described. After the account is deleted, your data is removed unless statutory retention obligations (e.g. accounting records, 10 years) require otherwise.
11. Your rights
Under the DPA you have the right to information about the data stored about you, to correction of inaccurate data, to deletion and to receive your data in a common format, where the conditions are met. You can also object to processing.
You can delete your account with all its data yourself at any time in your profile. You also change your email address and password there.
To do so, contact info@playwise.ch. We may ask for additional details to verify your identity. You also have the right to complain to the Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (FDPIC).
These rights also belong to players whose data a coach has recorded in Playwise, and to their parents or legal guardians. In that case write to info@playwise.ch — we'll pass the request on to the coach responsible or delete the data ourselves.
12. Data security
All connections are encrypted with TLS. Passwords are stored exclusively as cryptographic hashes. Access to the database is limited to what is necessary.
13. Changes
We may adapt this privacy policy when needed. The version published on this page applies.
